The health claims made by producers of colon cleansing products and colon irrigation practitioners are broad and wide reaching.
Other stated goals include: improving mental outlook, improving the immune system, losing weight, reducing risk of colon cancer.
Colon cleansing has been studied in relation to a few health concerns including: fecal incontinence, ostomy, spasm during colonoscopy, drug withdrawal
In many of these cases, no quality research has been done to tell whether or not a colon cleansing is helpful. If you speak with cleansing enthusiasts you may hear a different story. Do you due diligence before you consider natural colon cleansing.

Last week, I went for my first colonic.

A great way to get started on the road to better health is through detoxification and cleansing.
Most everyone accumulates toxins from food additives, alcohol, and cigarette smoke, chemicals from health & beauty products and even in household cleaning products.
Some symptoms that indicate a need for detoxification include chronic headaches or sinus congestion, allergies, recurrent colds/flus or respiratory illness, constipation, joint pain, skin rashes or frequent mood changes.

“These free radicals will attack proteins, DNA, the nucleus of cells, the membranes of cells,” Mattson says.
Mattson thinks partial fasting has numerous benefits, from improving glucose regulation, which can protect against diabetes, to also lowering blood pressure.
