4. 24 hour fast. The body spends up to one third of your energy on digestion and elimination. By avoiding solid food and only taking in liquids like water and fresh organic juices you give the body a break. It can now use some of its stored energy to fight disease and eliminate toxins in the body. By eliminating toxins the body is dumping them into the digestive tract to be eliminated.     This may sound like a joke, but….Water.

    Many people forget to drink liquids with their breakfast, because they don’t feel thirsty. The truth is, they are, but they don’t know it.

    drinking sufficient amounts of water helps your blood bring oxygen to your organs, making you feel less tired and sluggish.

    …especially in the morning.

    PS. Coffee will fill you with caffeine, but deplete you of water in your body.

    ok, this sounds weird but a marathon trainer told me this and it works very well…Take 7 peppercorns and crush them very well.
    Mix the peppercorns into 1 tsp. of honey. Eat the mixture, followed by drinking an entire 8oz. glass of water. That’s it. It will give you amazing evergy to get up and go in the am! Try it; it works!

    Apples are great, they are supposed to give you the energy of 2 cups of coffee but last a little longer. Almonds and nuts also give you a good healthy amount of energy.

    I can’t handle caffeine- it makes me shake- even though I love coffee. So along with my vitamins I drink soy milk or make a protein shake with it- also berries- like strawberries and blueberries (get them frozen-easiest-and Silk brand Very Vanilla soy milk in dairy section is best) The protein in the morning has helped me not snack- kept me on course for exercise and helped with fiber and also (for me) hot flashes and such. Omega-oils etc too- it holds onto you better than the caffeine and will be more beneficial. Also I’m not a breakfast gal so its a good quick fix. Try the very vanilla with a little coffee and sweetener in a shake bottle to take on the road- add some protein powder if you like—creamy!

    Take a Ginseng supplement. It can be found in most grocery or drug store and is pretty popular. It’s been used for many, many years for energy and mental alertness. Make sure you take Panax Ginseng.

    Pop a few pills in the morning, or break them open and mix it into a smoothie or something. You should feel energized.

    Vitamin B complex. Dissolvable ones like Berrocca (although expensive). Guarana- dpends how natural you consider this to be. Exercise- regular exercise gives you more energy (eg a walk). A hug. Compliment someone. A good breakfast (not bacon and eggs- although poached eggs are good).
