Coffee Retention Enema: Detoxification for Optimum Health

Toxicity: It’s a subject we struggle against and fear, yet it’s something we hardly know anything about or how to deal with. Many of us are too busy to even care and are completely subjected to everyday. What human beings failed to realize is this: optimum health equates to optimum output. Such is only possible when the body is free of hindrances – both emotional and physical

Toxins are found everywhere, coming from the environment, food, drugs, water, and the air we breathe therefore it is impossible to avoid them entirely. Minimizing contact with toxic substances is a possibility, requiring awareness and considerate choices in lifestyle and diet. However many of us are not afforded with either the time or luxury to always make health-conscious decisions and are in need of and alternative in reducing such harmful contaminants.

The alternative solution is the coffee retention enema, a controversial yet highly effective detoxification method developed in the early 20th century by Dr. Max Gerson. Though it definitely sounds strange, coffee enemas have been used as an alternative treatment for cancer patients – those who suffer from the damaging effects of toxins most of all. Dr. Gerson was first to pioneer the technique, noticing positive progression in his patients when the coffee enemas were used to facilitate excretion of toxic wastes. Modern medicine has now realized that these enemas have promoted the absorption of vitamin A, which in turn, plays a vital role in the body’s immune functions.

Why coffee, one might ask? Questions like this arise all the time when concerned with health and cleansing – which is quite understandable when considering the use of such a popular beverage in such an unusual manner. The answer to our question lies in the beneficial enzymes found within coffee. It’s these enzymes that are the key factor in stimulating the liver, promoting peristalsis (digestive tract movement), and causing the dilation of bile ducts which facilitates the excretion of toxic agents. Certainly this benefit cannot be accrued by drinking coffee alone – it requires the coffee to be administered into the rectum so it may travel through the large intestine to reach the liver.

Being an organ with many vital functions, the liver is responsible for filtering harmful substances (such as ammonia) from the blood. The body depends on the liver to regulate, synthesize, store, and secrete many important proteins and nutrients: as well as to purify, transform, and clear toxic or unneeded substances. Sometimes it can be seriously hindered or damaged by toxins like alcohol, drugs, harmful fumes, infections, or contaminated food or blood. Stimulating and restoring the liver’s valuable functions is the purpose of the coffee enema, promoting its effectiveness in balancing the body. One of the best-known effects of a coffee enema is its rejuvenating benefits: leaving users feeling spirited, energetic, and relieved. In addition, this therapy provides alleviation of pain, hastens the healing process, and improves digestion and absorption of nutrients. Although coffee enemas can relieve constipation, it should be noted that they are not given for the function of the intestines but rather for the stimulation of the liver.

Coffee Enema for Gallbladder & Liver Detoxification

www.balancedhealthtoday.com Coffee enemas were an established part of medical practice when Dr. Max Gerson introduced them into cancer therapy in the 1930s. Basing himself on German laboratory work, Gerson believed that caffeine could stimulate the liver and gall bladder to discharge bile. He felt this process could contribute to the health of the cancer patient. Although the coffee enema has been heaped with scorn, there has been some independent scientific work that gives credence to this concept. In 1981, for instance, Dr. Lee Wattenberg and his colleagues were able to show that substances found in coffee – kahweol and cafestol palmitate – promote the activity of a key enzyme system, glutathione S-transferase, above the norm. This system detoxifies a vast array of electrophiles from the bloodstream and, according to Gar Hildenbrand of the Gerson Institute, “must be regarded as an important mechanism for carcinogen detoxification.” This enzyme group is responsible for neutralizing free radicals, the harmful chemicals now commonly implicated in the initiation of cancer. In mice, for example, these systems are enhanced 600% in the liver and 700% in the bowel when coffee beans are added to the mice’s diet.
